Modern headlight lenses are polycarbonate plastic protected by a factory clear coat — and years of UV exposure break that coating down, oxidizing the lens into the hazy, yellowed fog you can't wash off. No soap fixes it, because the damage is in the surface, not on it. Restoration removes the damaged outer layer with progressive wet sanding, machine polishes the lens back to clarity, and seals it against UV to slow re-fogging. The payoff is more than looks: oxidized lenses scatter and block your light output — a real safety problem on dark, rainy BC nights. It also pairs perfectly with a full mobile detail.

Honest answer: restored clarity lasts many months to a couple of years, depending on sun exposure and how the car is kept. Restoration removes the oxidized layer completely, and the UV sealant slows re-fogging — but no sealant is permanent, and the sun never stops.
Two more things worth knowing before you book. First: we treat the outside of the lens, which is where UV damage and oxidation almost always live. If fogging is insidea sealed housing — usually moisture intrusion — exterior polishing won't fix it, and we'll tell you straight instead of charging you for a result you won't get. Second: an occasional reseal, easily added to a regular wash or detail, keeps restored lenses clear far longer than a one-and-done approach.
